Road Trip, Part 2
I'm glad to say that we- Mom, Grandma, Christopher, Joshua, and I- made it home on Sunday night. Our trip was definitely too short. We didn't get to see everyone we would have liked to, but hopefully we'll get to see them next time.
Road Trip with Mom, Grandma, and the Boys
This week I have the pleasure of going on a road trip with my Mom, Grandma, and my boys, Christopher and Joshua, and I'm typing this from the backseat of our car, headed East on Highway 54 to my Aunt Beverly's house in Fulton, Missouri.
My Love/Hate Relationship with Running
First off, please forgive the iPhone selfie. Sometimes, the best camera is the one you have with you, and that was the one I had.
Welcome to the New Site!
Welcome to the new site! I would like to say a huge 'Thank-You' to Ms. Vanessa Wilde for redesigning my logo and watermark. I absolutely love it!
Why I Volunteer
I took the photo above of a couple of the girls in my Girl Scout troop last May. We were planting some bushes at Peralta Elementary School, where we met last year, as a service project to the school. Every time I see it, it reminds me so much of why I volunteer.
I Can't Wait for Spring!
As I sit here trying to think up something genius to write about, all I can think is, 'I can't wait for Spring!' The Winter weather is doing it's usual central New Mexico thing: it's overcast and dreary without any snow. It's just nasty enough that you don't want to be outside.
Behind the Scenes- Los Lunas, New Mexico
After I finish writing this blog post, I have to go do exactly what I'm writing about today: What I do behind the scenes to get ready for a shoot, and what I do when I get home- or 'back to the office'.
Photographer's Child Syndrome
Over the past week, an unusual syndrome has made it's presence in my home and family known: Photographer's Child Syndrome.
The Year in Review
When I first started my business six months ago (Wow! How did it go by so fast?!), one of my goals was to infuse as much of myself into my business as possible. I believe that when you hire a photographer, you don't just hire them for their skills behind the camera and computer, but for who they are. Your personalities have to mesh to have the best experience possible, so that you get the best photos possible.
Salinas Pueblo Missions National Monument
Many people are familiar with the major National Parks we have in the United States- Yellowstone National Park, Yosemite National Park, the Washington Monument, the Jefferson Memorial. But, here in New Mexico, we have a lot of AMAZING littler parks that deserve mentioning.
Joshua’s First Birthday Photos
This little cutie is my son, Joshua. He recently turned 1 year old. This sweet boy of mine is growing up WAY too fast. He absolutely loves to laugh. He giggles at silly sounds, faces, and playing peek-a-boo. Once you get him going, he has a hard time stopping. I’m okay with that, though. It makes my heart happy to hear that sound.
Rancho Rendezvous
This past weekend I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to attend the Rancho Rendezvous at my childhood Girl Scout camp, Rancho Del Chaparral Girl Scout Camp- fondly known as Rancho.
Why I Love Photography
It occurred to me this last week that I never explained why I love photography- and that I should probably share that with you.
Welcome!
I am so excited to be starting my photography business. I never thought that I would end up here. Owning a business is always one of those things that a lot of people dream of when they’re young, but only a select few actually make it happen. I have to admit, I dreamed about owning my own business- for about half a second. I never thought that it was something that I’d actually want, or be able to do. But, here I am!
