UNM Duck Pond family photo Session- The Morrison Family

Just like many other area photographers, this Albuquerque Photographer loves to shoot at the UNM Duck Pond, and the lovely Morrison Family joined me there about a week and a half ago for a family photo shoot. This family was awesome to work with! Despite the fact that it was freezing outside, they stuck it out with smiles on their faces.

We started off outside of Zimmerman Library.

The kids and their grandmother had fun with all of the leaves that had fallen.

We soon walked over to the bridge at the Duck Pond. I love this duck pond! It's a bit of an oasis in the middle of a large college campus.

We finished up at the UNM Alumni Chapel.

It was a blast to work with this family. They had so much fun, laughing and carrying on the entire time. It was a blessing to see how much love they share with each other! Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas Morrison Family!

Update 8/10/2023:

I learned SO much from producing this family portrait session! It was the first time that I’d really figured out posing, rather than getting flustered and trying to make poses up. It was the first time that I’d shot in cold weather, and learned how to keep my clients comfortable while shooting. And, it was the first session I’d shot at the UNM Duck Pond in Albuquerque.

But, looking back now, I can see how badly I struggled with the light in the shadows of the buildings during Golden Hour. It’s why these photos are so grainy/noisy. I now have better skills, knowledge, experience, and equipment to overcome this obstacle.
