Isleta Resort and Casino Wedding- Ryan and Diana

I was so incredibly blessed to be able to photograph the Isleta Resort and Casino Wedding of two wonderful people about six weeks ago. I’m just now sharing this because I think it’s only fair that the bride and groom get the first full look at all the photos.

How the Couple Met

Diana and Ryan first met a little over a year ago. I’ve been lucky to watch their relationship grow! In fact, my mother introduced them. Diana’s daughter is in our Girl Scout troop, and Ryan is my mom’s co-worker.

The wedding took place on June 14, 2014 at the Isleta Resort and Casino using the Golf Course for the reception. I’ll get back to you on who provided the cake and DJ services. Diana's aunt provided the floral arrangements, bouquets and boutineers.

There was a last-minute decision to move the wedding ceremony indoors because of the weather, but I believe that the location did a beautiful job providing us a ceremony site.

You may recognize these photos from my home page, but these detail photos were taken at Diana and Ryan’s wedding. They’re some of my favorites!

The beautiful cake! Yes, those are minions, and Dr. Gru! Despicable me is a favorite movie of Diana’s- and now Ryan’s- daughter. And, I was able to partake of the cake- it was yummy!

Wedding Reception Events

The first dance! Always a tearjerker. Don’t they make a beautiful couple? I think so.

And one last quick photo- this is of Diana’s father and two of the wedding party members. They were having so much fun at the reception!

Congratulations to this beautiful couple- and family! May you have all the happiness in the world! And thank you for allowing me to photography your beautiful day!

Update 8/9/2023

Before I get into it, yes! Ryan and Diana are still happily married! Now, on to the update:

Again, wow! I really didn’t know what I didn’t know back then! And I now know I was so lucky to have gotten the shots that I did, because I was trying to use manual focus on all of these! I quickly figured out that most professional digital photographers use auto focus.

Since this wedding, I have shot several other events at Isleta Casino and Resort, and I have to say, the event team is 100% incredible to work with! They are kind, caring, helpful, and have often gone out of their way to make my job as a photographer easier. If you’re planning an event of any sort- a wedding, corporate event, family reunion, anything!- in the Albuquerque, New Mexico area, I highly recommend this venue!

Additionally, what I SHOULD have done- but again, didn’t know I should have- is credit the other amazing vendors. Unfortunately, I didn’t gather this information from the happy couple at the time, and I doubt they’re going to remember who their vendors were nearly 10 years later. So, I apologize to whomever I should have credited and didn’t! I promise I have learned my lesson in the years since!
