A Family Photo Session in Ruidoso, New Mexico- The Edwards Family

A Family Photo Session in Ruidoso, New Mexico- The Edwards Family

I absolutely love traveling down to Ruidoso for portrait sessions and weddings! The town itself is in the mountains (which I love!), and is just big enough to be comfortable, but completely small enough to be a tight-knit community.

Dorinda’s Maternity Portraits- Los Lunas, New Mexico

I honestly can’t recall how many years Dorinda and I have been friends now, but it’s been a long time. I watched as her and her husband Nick (also a good friend) became parents half way around the world (Nick was stationed in Japan with the Navy), and again after they’d been reassigned to Chicago. After they finally moved home a few years ago, I finally got to meet and cuddle their sweet kiddos. So when Nick and Dorinda announced they were expecting baby #3, I jumped at the chance to capture her pregnancy this time around!

Nature Pointe Wedding and Event Center in Tijeras, New Mexico is definitely one of New Mexico’s hidden gems. Preparing Your Groom for Your Engagement Portraits

Many men avoid having their picture taken for various reasons. My husband is an expert at dodging my camera. The Gray Family- Belen, New Mexico

The Gray Family- Belen, New Mexico

I had the pleasure of working with Patty, her daughter Jamie, Jamie's husband Ryan, and their daughter Leah this past Saturday to capture their very first family portraits in many, many years. What is the Golden Hour, and Why Should You Care?

What is the Golden Hour, and Why Should You Care?

Even before I knew that this special time of day had a specific name, it was my favorite part of the day. Simply put, the Golden Hour is the 30 minutes before sunset and the 30 minutes right after sunset each day.  This is the time of day when the sun is at an angle to the spot you are at on the Earth. Specifically in New Mexico, it's the time of day when we get all those pretty skies and colors. You know- the pinks and purples and blues that have made our sunsets famous.
